Since 1996, Game Freak has designed 1,025 unique species. Sort them all at once and patterns emerge that you'd never see one Pokémon at a time.
Each square is one of 1,025 species in the National Pokédex, colored by primary type. Click any dot to meet it.
Gen V (Unova, 2010) added the most at 156. Gen VI (Kalos, 2013) added the fewest: just 72. The franchise never stopped growing.
134 species carry Water as their primary type (base forms only). Normal (118) and Grass (103) follow. At the bottom: Fairy (29), Ice (31), Ghost (35).
Every species has a Base Stat Total. Sunkern sits at 180. Arceus peaks at 720. Most cluster between 400 and 500, with later generations trending slightly higher.
Legendary and Mythical Pokémon make up ~9% of all species but define the mythology of every generation.
