The debrief.
Tournament records, so far.
How the debrief is made.
Every line in The Story is generated by fixed analytical rules — thresholds on pressure counts, receptions between the lines, xG ratios, recovery times. The same test runs on every match; if a game was genuinely even, the page says so. No adjectives without numbers behind them.
Two of FIFA's own public data feeds: the event timeline behind their Match Centre (every goal, attempt and foul with real pitch coordinates — that's the shot map and the momentum index), and the Hawk-Eye-derived stat vault behind the FIFA app — 82 team metrics and 116 per-player metrics, published minutes after full time. Per-shot xG comes from our geometric model (distance, goal-mouth angle, headers, penalties), scaled so every player's shots sum to FIFA's official xG — geometry orders the chances, FIFA anchors the totals.
Every clay illustration on this site (teams, stadiums, icons) is made by us. We're an independent data-viz studio — not affiliated with FIFA; we read the same public feeds their own app reads, and credit them as the source.
