Eight watches. Eight ways
to say eight.

Each Royal Pop name is the number eight in a different language. Six Lépine open-faces (crown at twelve). Two Savonnette hunters (crown at three). Cards below show the day-zero $1,400 reference ask plus our month-1 estimate per model, derived from rarity and case-style precedent. Hover a sparkline to step through the projection.

Per-model month-1 floor figures are author estimates from the MoonSwatch + Blancpain × Swatch precedent. The Live Market Tracker below shows the actual transaction-anchored numbers we have sourced so far. Estimates will update as new sourced data lands.

III · The Rarity Engine Huit Blanc

Eight screws.
Thousands of factories.

Huit Blanc caseback · the random screw configuration · Monochrome Watches

The only Royal Pop with a randomised dial. The factory pulls eight bezel screws from a mixed bin and fits them in whatever order they grab.

Swatch has confirmed the configuration is unrepeatable in practice. That makes every Huit Blanc a one-off, which is exactly the rarity dynamic the resale market has been waiting for since the Mission-to-Moonshine Gold MoonSwatch.

Within two weeks, watch communities will catalogue the configurations. Examples that match a known palette will trade at a real premium. The rest will be normal Huit Blancs.

One screw. Hand-wound, for the first time.

SISTEM51 launched in 2013 as a fully-automated assembly. Fifty-one components held together by a single central screw. It was always an automatic. Until now.

The Royal Pop is the first hand-wound SISTEM51 in the movement's twelve-year history, with fifteen active patents, a ninety-hour reserve, and an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring. The Lichtenstein-style printing on the caseback is decoration over a movement that is, on the merits, real.

The reference curve. Long tail of special editions kept the brand resaleable; standard models settled to a coffee-cup premium. Sharper peak relative to retail, but the floor stayed higher. Smaller distribution and a less divisive design held secondary prices up. Tightest distribution of any Swatch collab to date. Most prestigious parent brand. First pocket-watch form factor at scale in the modern era.
VII · The Rarity Premium Power law · hover for detail

The rarity premium
doesn't average.

Headline resale numbers hide a power law. A standard MoonSwatch is a souvenir. A Mission-to-Moonshine Gold Snoopy is an asset. The Huit Blanc, with its randomly-coloured bezel screws, is the Royal Pop's built-in lottery ticket.

VIII · Read the Tape Five live signals · 30-day watchlist

Five signals that tell you
which case is winning.

We are not going to refresh this page hourly. You can. Here is the dashboard we'd watch over the next thirty days to figure out whether Royal Pop tracks MoonSwatch, Blancpain, or something new.

eBay Sold filter, not asking listings.

Asking prices on launch day are theatre. Filter to sold-only and watch the median. If sold prices break $1,000 for a standard Lépine on day three, you are in MoonSwatch territory. If they slide under $700 by day seven, this is Blancpain or worse.

Chrono24 listing count.

Volume of new listings per day is the supply read. MoonSwatch hit ~400 new listings on day one and stayed above 100/day for a month. If Royal Pop sits below 50/day for the first week, the queue cap is doing its job and prices will hold.

Swatch restock cadence.

The single biggest pricing variable. Walk a Swatch boutique on day seven. If they have stock in the case again, the bull case is dead. If they are still showing the empty velvet card, every flipper's pricing power compounds.

Huit Blanc configuration gallery.

The randomised screw colours create thousands of variants. Within two weeks, watch communities will start cataloguing them. Configurations that match a known palette (Mondrian, Lichtenstein, a Royal Oak factory colourway) will trade at a real premium. The rest are normal Huit Blancs.

The "I tried to wear it" review wave.

A pocket watch is not a wristwatch. The lanyard, the clip, the lay-on-desk situation. About three weeks in, expect a flood of "is anyone actually wearing this" posts. If the answer is yes, resale prices hold. If the answer becomes "I sold mine," the floor caves overnight.
