A three-year-old in Southaven, Mississippi, used his iPad to get help when his grandmother collapsed at home, WREG reported on 21 October.

Ky’ier calls his grandmother “Poopie”. When she passed out, he called his mother. “I called my mommy and said, ‘My Poopie passed out, my Poopie passed out,’” he told WREG.

His grandfather, Jarvis Shipp, had already had a call from his wife saying she did not feel well. Before he could get home, he got another call: she had collapsed.

Ky’ier stayed on the phone with the 911 dispatcher the whole time, describing how she was and watching for the paramedics from the front door.

“When he saw them, he yelled, ‘Come on, doctors, come on doctors, help my granny, help my granny,’” said his mother, Jhakiya Montgomery. She said she is not sure where he learned to call for help.

His grandmother was taken to hospital. She has since been released and is recovering well, and Ky’ier has been by her side, with his iPad.
