Kept 'dirt' or 'sat'? That is why they did it, not what they did. Kept 'bus'? The answer is 'bus-stop', the bench's kind.
This one really happened. On 1 September Maren Douglass and her husband, both teachers in Florida, were in hospital for his cancer treatment when their security cameras showed a high schooler sitting at the edge of their driveway, waiting for her school bus by a busy road. They ordered a bench from the hospital and put it together when they got home. She jumped for joy, then left a note: "Now I don't have to worry about dirt and bugs." People, 25 October.
