Servants from the two families start a street fight. The Prince stops it and says the next fight means death.

Romeo sees Juliet and falls in love. They kiss. Tybalt spots Romeo. Both lovers find out who the other is.

Romeo hides in the Capulet garden while his friends look for him.

Romeo cries on the floor of the Friar's cell. The Friar tells him to go to Juliet tonight and then leave for Mantua.

Capulet decides Juliet will marry Paris on Thursday. He does not ask her.

Romeo leaves at dawn. Juliet's parents tell her she must marry Paris. Her father screams at her. The Nurse says do it.

Juliet goes to the Friar. He gives her a potion that will make her look dead for forty-two hours.

Juliet tells her father she will marry Paris. He moves the wedding to tomorrow.

The Capulets stay up all night getting the wedding ready.

The Nurse finds Juliet 'dead'. The family grieves. The Friar arranges the funeral.

In Mantua, Romeo hears Juliet is dead. The Friar's letter never reached him. He buys poison.

The Friar learns his letter to Romeo was never delivered. He rushes to the tomb.

Romeo kills Paris at the tomb, drinks the poison, dies. Juliet wakes, finds him, stabs herself. The families make peace.
